Microfine Sealing and Glazing Resin Use for temporaries instead of polishing - Seal GIC temporaries and restorations. - Reduces surface wear of composites and seals margins
- Modified bis- gma flowable, flexible acrylic resin reinforced with pyrogenic silica
- Medium viscosity Suitable for temporaries and posteriors
- Minimises polishing time under all circumstances
- Ideal for quick finishing of temporary restorations
- Use with all composites and glass ionomer cements
- Viscosity allows for air brushing and seals the smallest margins
Microfinish bottle (7ml) SMF7B Contents: Instructions for useINTRODUCTIONMicrofinish is a modified bis-gma flexible acrylic resin that has been reinforced with pyrogenic silica. Microfinish allows a high polish to be obtained on all composite and glass ionomer restorations. As a lightly-filled resin sealant, Microfinish may also be used for any other applications where a sealant is appropriate; particular indications include the protection of temporary restorations and the sealing of margins of a composite restoration. INSTRUCTIONSPreparation: First adjust the occlusion of the newly placed restoration. Etch the restoration and surrounding enamel for 15-30 seconds using a 37% phosphoric acid gel, such as ‘BDT Etching Gel’. Wash and dry thoroughly.
Placement: Apply Microfinish uniformly over the restoration and surrounding enamel with a brush and then thin with air.
Curing: Cure for 40 seconds with the light source approximately 1mm – 2mm from the surface
Finishing: A high gloss can be achieved using a felt wheel or fine rubber cups and points. Do not over polish.
Note: Polishing time can be minimised by using BDT’s “Total Cure” to eliminate the oxygen-inhibited layer. In this case, cure for only 5 seconds, then apply Total Cure to the whole area and cure for a further 40 seconds. Then rinse. CAUTIONMicrofinish contains acrylic resins. A small percentage of the population is known to have an allergic response to acrylic resins. To reduce the risk of allergic responses, minimise exposure to these materials. In particular, exposure to uncured resin should be avoided. Use of protective gloves and a no-touch technique is recommended. If the resin contacts the skin, wash immediately with soap and water. STORAGEStore below 25°C (77°F) and out of intense light.
